The "Sun of May" was added to the center of the flag Februrary 25, 1818 because of one day in May 1810 when the sun was said to be seen through the clouds. 
Argentina means 'land of silver', and has great geographical diversity. It has a very interesting history and culture. It is also called the 'land of six continents'. It has the grassy Pampas, windy Noroeste Argentino, dry Gran Chaco, humid Mesopotamia, mountainous Cuyo, and cold Patagonia.
